In Popstar! August 2008 issue, Miranda Cosgrove is asked about her musical influenses. Avril is mentioned in this part of the interview: Popstar!: You recently signed a deal with Columbia Records to put out your own albums! Who are some of you musical influenses? Miranda: Avril Lavigne is one of my favorites. She's probably more punk than what I would do though. But I love her- she's awesome. Remember the Poptastic awards? Well, Avril came in 5th for female singer and the "Girlfriend" music video also came in 5th. I know, it's not first but your votes made it get in the top 5!
